Malinda Scott Hodge

Commissioner Hodge was elected to the Chatham County Commission in 2023. She is a lifelong resident of Chatham County and holds a degree in Marketing from Harris University. 

Malinda Scott Hodge is rooted in Savannah, and Savannah is rooted in her. 

Hodge is a second-generation native Savannahian and lifelong resident of Chatham County’s 2nd District. The daughter of retired educator Mary Alice Snowden and Chief Operating Officer & Executive Director of AMI Development Corporation Scylance B. Scott Jr., Malinda is honored to be a product of Savannah Chatham County's Public School System. She is a graduate of Savannah High School and holds a degree in marketing from Harris University. Malinda continues her academic pursuit at the illustrious Historically Black College & University (HBCU) Savannah State. Malinda is committed to serving her commUNITY with humility. Her desired focus is infrastructure in alignment with the progression and economic development of Chatham County. 

Her career path has garnered a range of rich experiences in varied fields within both the public and private sector; including hospitality, real estate, media, logistics, public safety and finance. 

Commissioner Hodge is dedicated to exposing our youth to culture and providing them access to world travel. Malinda passionately promotes financial literacy. She supports senior advocacy, youth engagement and mental health awareness (including treatment of Substance Use Disorder and dependency issues). Commissioner Hodge is environmentally and health conscious. She is a proponent of addressing food insecurities and ensuring access to holistically balanced and equitable healthcare. 

Commissioner Hodge has four children: Matthew Varnard Hodge, Fern Noel Hodge, Guy Malcolm Hodge IV and Holly Madison Hodge. She is affectionately called MèMè by Guy M. Hodge V (G5) also known as JET. She and her family are proud members of the African Methodist Episcopal Church, a global faith organization. They attend St. Philip Monumental AME Church.
