Helen L. Stone
Commissioner, District 1Commissioner Stone was elected to the Chatham County Commission in 2004, and received her certification from the Association of County Commissioners in 2006. She is a lifelong resident of Chatham County, and has a B.S. in Education from the University of Georgia.

Mrs. Stone is a past Chairman and member of the Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Planning Commission, a past Chairman and member of the Savannah Zoning Board of Appeals. She was elected to the State Planning Association in 2002. Mrs. Stone was the President of the Chatham-Savannah Humane Society from 1991-2002. In addition, she is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Savannah, and is a recipient of the Sustainer of the Year award in 2006.
Mrs. Stone has two children and she and her family are members of St. John's Episcopal Church.
